How to Easily Make Mason Jar Protein Powder Ice Cream

Looking for the perfect healthy summer treat? Discover how easy it is to make this, melt in your mouth, Mason Jar Protein Powder Ice Cream.

How to Easily Make Mason Jar Protein Ice Cream

No need for any special equipment, like an ice cream machine, Ninja Creami, or food processor. Just grab a mason jar and a few simple ingredients, and you’ll have a craving crushing delight in no time at all.

I started making this sweet treat as I was embarking upon my intermittent fasting 46 pound weight loss journey. And, as a middle-aged mama with a GIANT sweet tooth, this healthy dessert recipe was a complete LIFE SAVER!

Healthy ice cream recipes can be hard to find. But, this Keto ice cream recipe has it all. It’s low-carb, low-sugar, Keto-Friendly, and packed with TONS of protein. Let’s dive in and make some creamy ice cream the whole family will love.

Watch EXACTLY how to make this low carb ice cream below.

SIMPLE INGREDIENTS NEEDED

For this easy and healthy high protein ice cream recipe you will need the following main ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 Tablespoon Low-Carb Keto Sweetener (I like SWERVE – sometimes I use monk fruit)
  • 1 Tablespoon Protein Powder of Your Choice (Quest is my Fav and it packs several grams of protein per serving)
  • 1 teaspoon Almond or Vanilla Extract
  • *Optional: Powdered Peanut Butter (A Great Low-Calorie way to add more protein and flavor)
  • *Optional: Handful of Keto Chocolate Chips or Lily’s Baking Chips (Any kind Works – I love Salted Caramel)
  • *Optional: A Pinch of Salt
  • 16 oz Mason Jar with Lid

EASY RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

PREP TIME: Total time is about 6 Minutes to mix the ingredients and then you’ll need a little freezing time (3-5 hours.)

FIRST, in a 16 oz mason jar, add 1 Cup Heavy Cream, 1 Tablespoon Low-Carb Sweetener, and 1 Tablespoon Protein Powder.

NEXT, add in a pinch of Salt, Powdered Peanut Butter (optional), one teaspoon Vanilla or Almond Extract and a handful of Lily’s Baking Chips.

THEN, screw the lid on nice and tight and SHAKE continuously for about 5 minutes straight. No need for a Shake Weight Arm Workout today – this will definitely do the trick. Lol

FINALLY, Freeze for 3-5 hours. Remove from freezer, let the jar sit on the counter for about 3-5 minutes. Then simply, ENJOY!

This is such a versatile protein powder recipe. The possibilities are endless so feel free to use whatever flavor of protein powder you want. I love to use Quest protein powders with my favorite flavors being 1. Salted Caramel 2. Chocolate 3. Cinnamon Crunch. Sometimes I even like to make fun flavor combinations by adding a little bit of each protein powder.

Have fun experimenting with different flavors and mix-ins, like cocoa powder, Greek Yogurt, or Cacao Nibs) to keep things exciting and tailored to your taste buds.

Mason Jar Protein Ice Cream Recipe - So What IF? with Jen

Ideally, this mason jar ice cream recipe tastes the absolute best if it’s eaten on the day it was made. However, it can be stored in the freezer and enjoyed for a few days following.

NUTRITION INFORMATION

The nutritional information for this recipe will definitely vary depending on the protein powder and mix-ins that you choose to use. And, since I began living an intermittent fasting lifestyle over three years ago, I no longer count calories and instead just watch my carb intake.

This makes about Four (1/2 Cup) ice cream servings. Most of the calories in this recipe are found in the heavy whipping cream. When you add in the additional ingredients, this recipe is roughly 240 calories per serving. And, depending on the protein powder that you choose (QUEST really is THE BEST), this ice cream is only about 1-2 grams of carbs per serving.

The Final Scoop

With this simple and delicious Mason Jar Protein Powder “NICE CREAM” recipe, you can enjoy a guilt-free treat that supports your weight loss goals. So, the next time you’re looking for a post-workout snack, a healthy dessert, or just a fun way to incorporate more protein into your diet, this easy-to-make homemade ice cream is the perfect way to add some yumminess to your day!

So grab your mason jar and start shaking things up so you can indulge in a creamy, protein-packed snack that you can feel good about.
