Crustless Pizza Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 Pound Italian Ground Sausage
- 1-2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- Pepperoni (15-20 Pieces)
- Green Pepper (Diced)
- 1 Cup Mushrooms (Sliced)
- 8 Oz. Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 Large Jar RAO’s Pizza Sauce – I always use this brand because it’s low in sugar and carbs
- 1/4 Cup Powdered Parmesan Cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
Recipe Directions
FIRST, preheat oven to 400 degrees and lightly oil a 9 X 13 inch casserole dish. Add olive oil to a skilled and fully cook ground sausage. Drain excess grease and set aside.
NEXT, add a little more olive oil to the same skillet used for the sausage and saute’ mushrooms for a few minutes. In a large bowl combine sausage, green peppers and mushrooms together – mix well.
THEN, spread half of the pizza sauce on the bottom of the casserole dish. Spread half of the meat and veggie mixture on top of the sauce, then half of the pepperoni and half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat one more layer of everything.
FINALLY, mix together Italian Seasoning and Parmesan Cheese in a small bowl, sprinkle mixture on top of casserole and bake for 30 minutes. ENJOY!
