In addition to adopting an intermittent fasting lifestyle, adding green tea to my daily “clean fast” routine has definitely supported my weight loss efforts and has helped me to lose 46 pounds in 4 months.
MY (Personal) DAILY “Fasting” DRINKING ROUTINE
7:30 am-12:30 pm (FASTING) – I usually drink about 32 ounces of PLAIN BLACK COFFEE
12:30pm -2:30 pm (FASTING) – I usually drink about 16 ounces of GREEN TEA. (I didn’t really like the taste of green tea at first, so I tried putting it in sparkling mineral water and now I love it.) Give it a try. It really is a yummy way to mix things up.
2:30 – 5:00 pm or so (FASTING) – I usually drink about 24 ounces of PLAIN SPARKLING MINERAL WATER and sometimes I add a green tea bag to my water.
5:00-7:00 pm (NOT FASTING/EATING WINDOW) – This is my dinner time and my eating window so I usually drink flavored sparkling water, decaf coffee or whatever yummy drinks I want to enjoy during this glorious time)
7:00-8:00 pm (FASTING) – I will usually have about 12 ounces of plain water.
*This routine has worked great for me and has most definitely supported my weight loss goals.
My absolute favorite green tea brands are: BIGELOW and 365 by WHOLE FOODS MARKET (Organic). They are both very high quality green teas and are quite cost effective, as well.
A Few Tea Tips
PLEASE NOTE: It is important that you DO NOT ADD GREEN TEA TO BOILING WATER because it actually destroys many of the healthy and beneficial nutrients and antioxidants. In fact, it is recommended that you brew green tea using water that is heated to about 175 to 180 degrees. This water should be steaming briskly, but not yet boiling.
In addition, please note that It’s also important to drink freshly brewed tea as the health benefits will decrease the longer it sits around.
FINAL GREEN TEA TIP: Don’t be duped and/or sucked into purchasing green tea pills or supplements under the premise that they will lead to massive weight loss. Stick to the real deal and drink plain, high quality green tea, like BIGELOW or ORGANIC 365.
